V International Scientific and Technical Conference «Rocket- free Industrialisation of Near Space: Problems, Ideas, Projects» was held at two venues simultaneously for the first time. On 23 and 24 September, the event brought together leading scientists, educators, and science popularizers at the Eco-Park «Aquarelle» in Maryina Gorka Belarus, and at Sharjah Research Technology Park, UAE.

The conference was attended by more than 100 participants, including representatives of international organisations from Russia, the UAE and the UK: UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation, as well as the scientific organization «Arctic Social Academy of Sciences», the Arctic Council of the Eurasia Assembly, the Space State of Asgardia and others.

Every year, the conference platform becomes a meeting place for representatives of the scientific community, developers, environmentalists, social and political activists. The anniversary conference was no exception — there were lively discussions on the results achieved and further joint plans for the implementation of the innovative global geospace programme uSpace, part of the «EcoWorld» project.

The event was held to summarise the results of scientific, research and development work carried out in scientific and design organisations, design offices and engineering companies, as well as work being implemented by individual researchers and enthusiasts.

«We should start thinking and acting on a cosmic scale. By the middle of the XXI century, the large-scale industrialisation of near-space should be implemented. The resources of the solar system are sufficient to meet all of humanity's technological needs for millions of years to come. Before it is too late, it is necessary to choose the biosphere path of sustainable development of our technogenic civilization in the logic: “The Earth is for life. Space is for industry”.

Our conference is a unique platform where we have an opportunity to discuss and work out solutions for the tectonic changes that are currently taking place in the world in the form of open and lively dialogue,», — said General Chairman of the Organising Committee, General Designer of «Astroengineering Technologies» Anatoli Eduardovich Unitsky in his welcoming remarks.

Welcoming speeches were made by:

  • His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi — CEO of Sharjah Technology and Innovation Research Park (United Arab Emirates);
  • Lembit Öpik, Chairman of the Parliament of the Space State of Asgardia, (UK);
  • Sergei Anatolievich Korotkov, Director of the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation

A total of 15 papers were presented at the conference, with 4 discussions and 4 stand reports. This year's speakers include 7 Candidates and 3 PhDs.

A guest of honour at the Jubilee Conference was the cosmonaut pilot, a hero of the Russian Federation, holder of the medal «For Services in Space Exploration» Candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, one of the record holders for a stay in space, Sergey Vasilyevich Avdeyev.

Their thoughts on the need for and way of implementing the uSpace planetary programme, were expressed by:

  • Grishin Igor Yurievich, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Deputy Director for Research and IT, Sevastopol Branch of the Moscow State University;
  • Voytenok Alexey Vitalievich, member of the Expert Advisory Council for the Promotion and Support of Russian Education, Science and the Russian Language Abroad at Rossotrudnichestvo of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Political Science;
  • Babichev Igor Viktorovich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Doctor of Law, Chief of Staff of the Committee on Regional Policy and Local Self-Government of the State Duma of the Russian Federation;
  • Poteryaiko Angelina Yuryevna, Deputy Director of the Scientific School of Strategic Planning; N.I. Vedutu, scientific secretary of the section «Artificial Intelligence in Economics» under the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences

A highlight of the event was a video presentation of the renewed «EcoWorld» programme and the opening address by its creator, Anatoli Eduardovich Unitsky.

To showcase the already-implemented elements of the «EcoWorld» programme and to immerse into the projects being developed, the guests were presented the exhibition expositions of the Bureau of Biotechnology, the Design Bureau of Structural Engineering Culculations and the Bureau of Hypervelocity Transport Complex.

In addition, a VR zone was set up with locations of the GPV's take-off and landing station and its modules - the interiors of the EcoCosmoHouse. The expositions not only offered visitors an insight into the locations presented, but also gave them the chance to feel they were part of a new world of sustainable biotechnology that was already under construction.

The exhibition exposition was supplemented by an unmanned electric helicopter ELECTRON 7, designed to solve a variety of tasks, including in difficult weather and climatic conditions.

The scientific part of the Conference concluded with the signing of a number of important documents: a joint Declaration of Cooperation with the UNIDO Centre for International Industrial Cooperation in the Russian Federation and an Agreement of Intent with the St. Petersburg Scientific Public Organization «Arctic Public Academy of Sciences». The signing of these documents is an important step towards full-scale cooperation to implement the «EcoWorld» programme and its space vector — the rocket-free space exploration programme uSpace in the logic of «Earth is for life.». Space is for industry».
