On the website of the Khaleej Times, there has been released an article under the authorship of Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of Sharjah Research Technology Park (SRTI Park). We share the highlights of the publication.
Al Mahmoudi noted that the freight and passenger string transport are currently being tested on the territory of the Park. When the testing is completed, the government plans to announce the construction of tracks in Sharjah. This will be the first high-speed network in the UAE.
Al-Mahmoudi also drew attention to the advantages of the technology. For example, the string transport moves above the ground, which allows to use the space under the tracks for commercial or residential real estate. The construction of such a system will be cheaper than the metro.
We remind you that recently in the interview on Talk 100.3 FM radio, a representative of the company from the UAE stated that in it Sharjah that the first commercial project can be implemented.
