Recently, we have published the news about how Unibus was delivered to the production facility in Minsk to install the improved pneumatic suspension.
What is this element for? What advantages does it have? And how long was its development going on? The answers to these questions were given by Dmitry Evsyukov, the design engineer of the string transport company developer.
What is the main task of the suspension?
The suspension design determines how comfortable and safe the transport will be for passengers while running at high and ultra-high speeds. Therefore, the main task of this element is to isolate the interior from dynamic loads and ensure the oscillation frequency within 60-100 units. This is the maximum allowable value that a person usually experiences while walking. A lower oscillation frequency can lead to motion sickness, and a higher one can lead to discomfort and fatigue.
How will the new suspension improve the string transport?
Initially, the string transport models were equipped with a mechanical suspension, then - with the a hydropneumatic one. After that, the company's specialists developed a two-stage pneumatic system. At the stages of computer modeling and testing, it showed the best results.
The pneumatic system has also been tested at the Testing Centre in Belarus. The transport with this suspension was passing all sections of the track equally smoothly. The resulting level of comfort can be compared to travelling in a premium car.
What helped to achieve the result?
The company's specialists are constantly working to make the string transport even more comfortable for passengers. As a result of frequent tests and step-by-step improvements over several years, the new suspension system has demonstrated its effectiveness, surpassed all previous options and has become the most optimal solution.
