Another article following the press conference at the UST, Inc. Centre in Sharjah has appeared in the Zawya publication. In this material, journalists detail the phases in the development of the string transport. We are sharing a description of each of them.

1. Freight and passenger complexes

At the first phase, in Sharjah, there was implemented the UST, Inc.Testing Centre, where freight and passenger models of the string vehicles capable of speeds of up to 150km/h are being tested.

According to the journalists, the string track at the UST, Inc. Centre may be extended to connect the training buildings, which are located at the Sharjah Research and Technology Park.

In total, more than $14 million has been invested in the design, construction and certification of UST, Inc. facilities in the UAE.

2. Technology platform and high-speed transport

In the second phase, the company plans to deploy a technology platform to certify a high-speed line on which vehicles can travel at speeds of up to 500km/h. The parameters for the implementation of this project are as follows:

- $230 million is needed to build a high-speed complex for research, demonstration and certification purposes. The minimum length of the test track must be 20 km and the required land area must be 100 ha.

- The full deployment of the platform with all the infrastructure and other associated technologies requires $580 million. An additional plot of land with a minimum size of 50 hectares is also required.

- The timeframe for construction and certification of the high-speed complex is 2 years from the start of full funding.

- The timeframe for the technology platform to be fully operational from full funding is 3 years.

p>- The speed of intercity high-speed models for passenger, freight and freight-passenger transport will be 500 km/h. In the future, this value can be increased to 600 km/h with the construction of a 30-km track.

Governments in several countries are already interested in deploying the UST, Inc. technology platform on their territory. However, apart from the investment and the area required, there are several other factors that affect the construction of the project.

Firstly, there is the high cost of land. The solution to this problem is that you don't need much space to build a string track, as the main area is taken up by the supports. The maximum distance between them can be 3 km. It's enough to cross rivers, mountains and other obstacles.

Secondly, high population density and congested road infrastructure. The company is solving this problem with a flexible model range that, on the one hand, avoids large crowds and, on the other hand, delivers a passenger flow of 50,000 people per hour.

According to the journalists, UST, Inc. is ready to work with any country that is interested in developing the string transport technology in its territory.

We should note that this is not the only material about the string transport project in the Zawya edition. On 31 October, for example, the journalists published a piece of news that the company plans to increase its portfolio of potential targeted projects by 10 pieces by the end of 2022.
