The local TV station in the town of Khor Fakkan, UAE, has released a report on the first proposed SkyWay targeted project in the emirate of Sharjah. The report was aired on television on 14 December, and the following day, the information about the project appeared on the Instagram account of the television station Khorfakkan News Network.
According to Khorfakkan News, the proposed track will pass through the small tourist town of Khor Fakkan in the Emirate of Sharjah with the population of 18,000 people. The track could be 10.6 km long, and five stations along the route are to be lined with important for the town landmarks: from Al Rafisah Dam to the historic Al Rabi monument; further on along the beach, and through the town to Al Zahrawi Street. The final station on the route is planned to be built in the area of the palace of the Emir of Sharjah, Sultan bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi.
According to Khorfakkan News, the total journey time on the SkyWay route for a passenger could take about 10 minutes including boarding and deboarding. A similar route by car now takes about 20-25 minutes. The media reports that the final version of the route may be clarified in the process of agreeing on the technical documentation.
