On 26 October, the Emir of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi paid a visit to Sharjah Research Park and blessed the launch of the first experimental phase of the SkyWay string transport in Sharjah.
The launch was attended by Anatoli Unitsky, the founder of the SkyWay project, the Chief Executive Officer of Sharjah Park, Hussain Al Mahmoudi and several senior officials: Dr. Eng Rashid Al-Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority; Abdullah Salem Al Tarifi, Chairman of Sharjah Social Security Fund and others.
The guests were shown the project of the future park and demonstrated a functioning model of tropical string transport adapted to the climatic conditions of the Middle East.
