On 30 April, the Dubai Government Media Dubai Media Office published an article in which it told about the Dubai Highway and Transport Department (RTA) presentation of the projects to Dubai Ruler Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During the visit, Dubai Ruler approved the city’s infrastructure development projects, including the construction of the 15-kilometre SkyWay urban transport system.
The leading UAE media trumpeted this news.
According to Gulf News:
«Sheikh Mohammed was briefed about the Skypods project, a suspension transit system which would link vital spots such as the Dubai Financial Centre and Downtown with the Dubai Business Bay of Dubai. The second level transport would pass through the Happiness Street and run up to City Walk, through tracks extending 15 km in length. The plan provides for the construction of 21 stations. According to RTA calculations, the carrying capacity per hour in both directions will be 8,400 passengers».
