The XIII International Forum «Arctic: present and future» is taking place in St. Petersburg on December 7-8. Unitsky String Technologies Inc. is participating in this large-scale event. The Company offers a comprehensive approach to the development and exploration of the Far North using uST technology.
Every year the forum gathers more than 2000 participants from Russia and abroad. Among them – representatives of federal and regional authorities, heads of major Russian banks, leading experts from the scientific community, journalists and many others. The main theme of the event – integrated and strategic solutions, as well as new opportunities for socio-economic development of the region.
This year the two-day business program of the forum provides for 2 plenary sessions, speeches of more than 400 speakers and work of more than 50 discussion platforms dedicated to the main directions of social policy, economy, infrastructure, science and technology, ecology, international cooperation, ensuring comprehensive security of the Arctic zone. In terms of the number of business events, the forum is an absolute leader in Russia. It hosted 56 sessions in 2022.
During the event, uST Inc. will demonstrate the effectiveness of the uST solution for the Arctic zone. uST complexes can be used where road construction is difficult due to climate or soil conditions. At that the construction of a lightweight and at the same time durable string rail flyover in permafrost areas is more affordable than other transport solutions. The cost of the uST complex is comparable to the cost of laying a temporary winter road for the period of subzero temperatures.

In the conditions of the Far North, the advantages of uST transport are especially noticeable. The track structure is resistant to temperature changes in the range from -60 to +60 °C due to the pre-tensioning of the strings. No de-icing salts are required for its winter operation. The automated control system eliminates the human factor and allows uST complexes to be operated in all weather conditions all year round.
