Earlier, Unitsky String Technologies Inc. reported that the authorities of the Leningrad Oblast are interested in using uST transport and infrastructure complexes.
In an interview to the information agency «RZhD-Partner» Deputy General Director of UST Inc. Eugeny Petrov said:
«We have submitted a package of documents to the regional government, including financial and economic calculations. The project parameters were calculated based on the data received from the relevant committees of the region. The Governor and his team reviewed the documents and confirmed their interest in the implementation of the transport infrastructure complex. However, at this stage the regional authorities are not ready to act as an end-user, of course. The calculations presented shall first be verified as part of a detailed feasibility study. This is a costly and time-consuming work, which will be started when we determine the areas of responsibility and sources of funding».
According to the deputy general director of UST Inc. the results of the project analysis already obtained show high profitability of the transport complex based on uST solutions on this route. According to the company's estimation, the project will be profitable even if the passenger flow is 40% less than the one included in the calculation models, if the ticket price is comparable to the cost of subway ride
