During the Ecofest 2018, the public attention was focused on uniwind, the new industrial model of the string transport rolling stock.
Uniwind is a light suspended monorail vehicle of small capacity used in the SkyWay transport system on urban and suburban lines with flexible track structure.
The flexible track structure allows to quickly create light tracks to organize transport communication in sparsely populated or remote areas and areas with difficult terrain. This type of track structure is characterized by simple and functional design, making it one of the most affordable solutions for the organization of transport communication.
"Despite the fact that the track is super light and has small capacity, it can solve serious problems. This track can be routed to any village, town, any country, cross all the rivers, because the spans can be up to 2-3 km. In fact, it is analogous to people's cars of the Soviet era, such as "Lada" and "Zaporozhets" — cheap and easy to perform, which for many people remained the only available means of transport," said SkyWay General Designer Anatoliy Yunitskiy.
Thanks to the modular design, uniwind can be used for transporting both, passengers and goods.
Using replaceable modules and the possibility of the optional implementation of parts and components, versatility of uniwind's application is achieved: from the highly specialized use on regional passenger and freight lines to the organization of individual transportation.
The outstanding operational reliability of the vehicle is insured by full duplication of the propulsion system, including the systems of traction drive and power supply.
The high technical characteristics of uniwind are achieved by using in its construction the adjustable independent suspension, high-capacity energy storage, minimal energy consumption, low requirements to the infrastructure of the region coverage, as well as simplicity and low cost construction of the track structure.
Characteristics of the transport vehicle:
Speed: up to 150 km/h
Number of passengers: 2 people
Carrying capacity: 150 kg
System performance: 7200 passengers per hour in both directions
Power consumption (at a speed of 150 km/h): 8,5 kWh or 2.1 litres per 100 km in fuel equivalent
