Representatives of the string transport project visited the city of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, where they presented transport solutions for passenger transport to local officials.
The meeting was attended by Infrastructure Minister Ernest Nsabimana; Vice-Mayor in charge of Kigali Urbanisation and Infrastructure Mpabwanamaguru Merard; Managing Director of Kigali Innovation City, Tesi Rusagara.
The main topic of the presentation was a potential string track project between Kigali and the Bugesera airport, which is under construction. The route will be about 20-km long and the travel time — 11.5 minutes.
The parties also discussed options for a public transport network in Kigali itself. The project delegates suggested using Unilitе and Unicar as rolling stock.
The Rwandan representatives have shown great interest in the construction of string tracks in the country and have outlined the first steps in implementing the projects presented.
