The representatives of the string transport project in the UAE met with engineers from the Sharjah Directorate of Town Planning & Survey (DTPS). The event was supported by the Research and Technology Park (SRTI Park).
Today, the DTPS experts are looking for solutions to launch public transport in Sharjah and the tram, in particular. For this purpose, the Directorate plans to carry out research in the university area, which is close to the Technology Park.
The DTPS has turned its attention to the string transport in the course of its work. In many ways, this technology is superior to existing passenger transportation solutions.
At the meeting with DTPS, the representatives of the project gave a presentation on the technology and explained in detail the advantages of the suspended transport system.

It should be noted that the university area may only be the beginning of the future public transport network. In the next phases, the Directorate plans to cover the districts of Muweilah and Mleiha.
The Sharjah Technology Park's Director of Business Development Motaz Ben Saoud was also present at the event. He commented on the project's prospects:
«We will be proud that this technology will soon be rolled out in Sharjah and hopefully in other emirates».
