Dr Lawson Mbuggus, a railway engineer and lecturer in railway construction from London, has visisted the String Technologies Testing Centre in Sharjah. The specialist came to the Centre to personally witness the tests of the innovative above-ground transport.

As a railroad engineer, Dr. Lawson Mbuggusa is well aware that conventional track construction is costly and virtually impossible in regions with difficult terrain. The string transport technology solves these problems with ease.

On a tour of the Centre, the guest was introduced to certified tropical Unicar. We remind you that this is a string transport model with increased comfort for four people. A few Unicars can be connected to a single train using a rigid coupling.

Dr Lawson Mbuggusa was also shown a vehicle for transporting sea containers. Such transport is suitable for any terrain, does not harm nature and does not require human participation during loading and unloading.

In addition, the guest visited the pavilion, where high-speed string transport is presented. The presented model is equipped with a multimedia system, can accommodate six people and is able to move at speeds up to 500 km/h.

Note that Dr. Lawson Mbuggus is actively involved in the development of railway infrastructure in Africa. The country is currently considering building a 12,000 km section through Calabar, the capital of the Cross River state. According to the expert, the string transport could be a suitable alternative for the 80-100- km track.

Dr Lawson Mbuggus highly appreciated the potential of the string transport and expressed his desire to do his utmost to implement this technology in Africa.
