Emmanuel Hategeka, Rwanda's Ambassador to the UAE, has visited the String Testing Centre in Sharjah again. This time, Clare Akamanzi ,CEO of the Rwanda Development Board and Member of the Cabinet of Rwanda, joined the Ambassador.

Rwanda ranks among Africa's top 10 countries in education, health, quality of government, security and economic growth. Cooperation with the string transport project could be an impetus for the country's further development.

On the tour, the delegates visited the passenger station and took a test drive on a certified tropical Unicar on the 400-metre track.

The guests also visited the pavilion where a high-speed model of the string transport, which can reach speeds of up to 500 km/h, is being demonstrated. This vehicle was first shown to the general public in 2018 at the InnoTrans exhibition in Berlin.

Another stop on the tour was the office of the company that is developing the project in the UAE. Here, the delegates looked at the Linear City model and some key parts of the string transport, such as the motor-wheel of the company's own production.

After the guided tour, the guests were shown a presentation of the string transport, where the project founder Anatoli Unitsky personally presented the typical design solutions of the technology.

In addition, the delegates got to know about the economic advantages of the project. For example, the cost of building a string track is 1.5–2 times less than building a railway and tram line, and 5-7 times less than building a metro. Operating costs are also reduced by a factor of 2 to 3.

Along with that, the introduction of the string technology will help to reduce the consequences of conventional transport: accidents, environmental pollution, high fuel consumption and congested roads.

The delegates' visit to the Centre ended with a fruitful dialogue with Anatoli Unitsky, at which the parties expressed their intention to establish a relationship of trust and productivity in the near future.

Today, the string transport project has all the resources it needs to offer Rwandan customers high-quality, safe and environmentally friendly transport systems.
