The official website of Unitsky String Technologies Inc. has released a new column that focuses on the main questions about the string transport technology. In the first article, the company experts explain what a string-rail flyover is.
‒ There are three types of string rails: rigid, semi-rigid and flexible ones. The track structure itself can be made in mounted and suspended, as well as monorail and double-rail versions.
‒ The main horizontal load from the stretching of the rail falls on the anchor supports, while the intermediate supports take on the vertical load. The main distinguishing feature of this design is the low consumption of materials in comparison to conventional trestles. This allows the track structure to be light and elegant. String tracks will not obscure natural views and spoil the natural landscape.
‒ Among the major advantages of the UST Inc.'s flyovers are high durability and smoothness of the track, ease of fabrication, ability to operate at extreme temperatures, and minimal energy consumption when travelling.
‒ The small diametre of the string rail and the location of the track above the ground allows to optimize aerodynamics, increase speed and ensure a high level of safety of the transport complex.
