The journal "Innovative Transport" has released an article describing the characteristics of tropical Unicont. One of the authors of the publication is the founder of the project Anatoli Unitsky. We share the highlights of this material.
‒ The traditional freight transportation industry requires improvements in the following indicators: energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, profitability, affordability, automation, speed of construction and low cost of operation. Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. transport can solve these problems.
‒ Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. freight transport is suitable for working in regions with difficult terrain, does not harm the environment, does not require large operating costs and helps to fully automate loading and unloading operations.
‒ One of the freight models of Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. is Unicont. This is an unmanned transport means designed to transport 20- and 40-feet sea containers at speeds up to 100 km/h.
‒ Unicont consists of two traction modules with platforms for cargo, which can be connected by a virtual or ridge coupling. The model is equipped with control systems, automatic fire extinguishing and wheel derailment prevention from the track structure.
‒The Unicont traction module housings are made of fiberglass. The body design is dictated by the requirements of aerodynamics and has smooth contours.
‒Unicont's movement is enabled by the electric drive powered by a contact network. In autonomous mode and with a maximum total weight of 53 tons, this model can travel 10 km. This mode is needed for maneuvering in technical areas (depots), loading and unloading hubs and in de-energized areas.
‒ The accuracy and safety of Unicont's work is ensured by the intelligent system. It is able to receive dispatch station signals, independently control traffic and monitor the condition of equipment using special sensors.
‒ Unicont tests will first take place in the EcoTechnoPark (Maryina Gorka, Republic of Belarus), and then, in the Testing and Certification Centre of Unitsky String Technologies, Inc. (Sharjah, United Arab Emirates) in the tropical climate.
