A delegation from Colombia led by the country's Transport Minister Ángela María Orozco Gómez, has visited Unitsky String Technologies Inc. Centre in Sharjah. Representatives of Sharjah Science and Technology Park also joined the tour.
The guests were briefed on the advantages of the string transport, and were shown a certified model of the Tropical Unicar, which is designed for urban and inter-city traffic in hot climates.
The participants of the delegation also visited dispatch room, from where the vehicles are controlled, and were shown the hardware and software system presented there.
An additional stop on the tour was the pavilion in which a high-speed model of the string transport is being demonstarted. This vehicle accommodates up to 6 people and can travel at speeds of up to 500 km/h on intercity and international routes.
In conclusion, Ángela María Orozco Gómez discussed with the representatives of Unitsky String Technologies Inc. the potential for implementing the string transport in Colombia.
