The engineers at UST, Inc. have developed a door-opening system that will be used in new models of the string transport. Here are the key advantages of this technology.
Saving space
The new doors are of the reclining and sliding type. This technological solution saves space at the station during passenger pick-up and drop-off. As a reminder: the string transport is currently equipped with swing doors, which require additional space.
Comfort
A further advantage of the new development is the extended doorway. On this parameter, the string transport is fully compliant in the UAE and is suitable for wheelchair users.
Safety
The reclining and sliding mechanism does not hinder people from moving around the station, which reduces the risk of accidents when opening the doors. In addition, the doors are equipped with sensors that detect obstacles, analyse the situation during boarding and deboarding, and react to the situation.
Environmental friendliness
All materials used in the construction of the new door system comply with international environmental requirements.
It should be noted that the sliding doors will help UST, Inc. better tailor its transportation systems to meet the needs of future customers. For the first time, this technology is planned to be introduced in the new Unibus model.
