The SkyWay project is increasingly appearing on television around the world. This time, the footage of the string transport tests was shown on the Australian TV channel Sky News. We share the highlights from this video.
First and foremost, the TV presenter revealed that the interior of the string transport is designed in a business class style. That is about about the interior of the Tropical Unicar which features leather seats, a refrigerator and a monitor.
Sky News went on to point out the advantages of the string transport over the cable car. For instance, unlike its rival, the SkyWay urban transport can reach speeds of up to 150 km/h. In addition, only single cabins move on the ropeway, whereas the string transport is capable of travelling in a coupling.
And of course, the presenter informed that building of 1-km SkyWay track would cost about $10 million. That is 15 times less than building the same stretch of underground.
